A Comedy Club isn't a building.

It's Us.

Comedy runs on people - the audience, the performers, the people who show up for laughter without punching down.  So why should a venue dictate where - and how - comedy happens?

In every space that can hold a mic, a few chairs, and a bunch of people, Cult of Babbleonanon reimagines the comedy club. Driven by our collective, we can reshape comedy as mobile, accessible, inclusive, and hate-free.

ABOUT

Why We’re Decentralizing
Comedy Clubs

Comedy clubs - and the people who run them -  have been the gatekeepers of stand-up for decades.

Some are great. Many are… outdated.

By making the audience the center of the comedy ecosystem, we:

  • Create shows in spaces that work for everyone

  • Remove barriers for new and diverse comics

  • Make the experience better for audiences and venues

You don’t need a comedy club to have a comedy show.

You just need people who care — and we’ve got those.

We’re a Social Club, Not a Venue

Think of us as a comedy club without a zip code.

No two-drink minimums. No staircases to nowhere.

No “edgy” comics recycling 1998’s worst takes.

Instead, we’re a roaming, growing, values-driven audience. A club made of people who:

  • Love live comedy

  • Believe accessibility is non-negotiable

  • Want more joy and less cruelty onstage

What We Mean By
Hate-Free Comedy

This isn’t about censorship.

It’s about higher standards.

We believe great comedy doesn’t come from mocking marginalized groups — it comes from truth, timing, and taking creative risks without punching down. We work with performers who:

  • Punch up, not down

  • Are hilarious without being harmful

  • Treat every show like it matters — because it does

Audience

 What We Mean By Accessible

Accessibility isn’t just a bonus — it’s baseline.
Shows should be welcoming for people of all identities and abilities.

We highlight, partner with, and pressure venues to meet basic accessibility standards.

If the audience can’t get in, there’s no show.

OUR CODE OF CONDUCT

Cult of Babbleonanon is dedicated to supporting the production of hate free comedy in accessible spaces. Our core values require that the content we promote be thoughtfully balanced in favor of social justice. We support the rights of all human beings to define themselves and live their lives in peace without fear of prejudice or violence against their person. We recognize that humans often find themselves in conflict with one another, and in the event that such things occur within our organization, we will endeavor to focus our response on restorative justice.

TLDR: Don’t be a dick.
